5 Tips for Eating Healthy

It's a new year, and 'tis the season for new year's resolutions. We all know that eating healthy is one of those things that are on people's lists.

Do you struggle with eating healthy? I know what that's like! Let's be honest. No one wants to eat leaves all the time. You actually want to enjoy your food. I get that! I'm going to tell you something that is going to change your life... healthy food can taste good! Yes, it's true!

I'm going to give you 5 tips to help you eat healthy. You are going to feel better, and look better too! Not having greasy food is going to be better for your skin because grease can clog your pores. Along with exercise it's going to help you maintain a healthy weight. Most importantly, eating healthy means you’re taking care of the body God created.

So let's get started, shall we?

1. Make your meals protein rich. Protein is what keeps you full. If your meals are protein rich, you won’t be hungry so soon and then you won’t be reaching for another food to satisfy.

2. Start small. If you aren’t used to eating healthy, don’t go crazy and buy every single healthy food at the store. Don’t get anxious about every meal being healthy. Try to start with one meal, and progress to all of the things you eat. Proteins include meat, beans, eggs, and more.

3. Don’t starve yourself. That kind of defeats the purpose. Eating healthy is actually eating, and giving your body the vitamins and nutrients it needs.

4. Add good toppings. Toppings are so essential to a delicious meal. For example, add cranberries and some delicious dressing to make a sweet salad. Or, add feta cheese and for a salad that seems fancy.

5. Enjoy the junk… occasionally. You don't always need to skip on the junk food. It might seem like it would be hard to pass the burgers and fries for salad, but you don't have to! It's ok to occasionally eat a burger and fries. It’s not going to kill you, unless you are diagnosed with some rare disease or something. You might not want to eat the burgers and fries after you’ve eaten some delicious healthy food, though.
